Abstract

Background: Nowadays, patient satisfaction plays an important role in determining the quality of health services and managerial programs. Therefore, this study aimed at determining patients’ satisfaction with physiotherapy services in clinics of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in 2013.
Methods: This cross-sectional, descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 183 patients selected through simple random sampling from the clinics affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in 2013. The patients completed a standard questionnaire. Then, student t-test, ANOVA, and correlation test were used to assess the relationship between the study variables and patient satisfaction.
Results: In this study, the mean score of patient satisfaction was 4.75, indicating the patients’ high level of satisfaction with physiotherapy services at the clinics of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. Besides, the highest satisfaction level was related to the ethical dimension with the mean score of 4.834. The results showed no significant relationship between patient satisfaction and ethical considerations, timing and programming, and suitable costs. However, a significant association was observed between quality of services and patient satisfaction.
Conclusion: This study showed that quality of services was the most important factor that had a direct impact on patient satisfaction. Thus, continuous assessment of quality of services and patients’ satisfaction is recommended to be performed in both public and private centers.
