However, few studies are available in this area. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the knowledge and practice of nurses on how to measure and control cuff pressure of patients admitted to intensive care units. Methods: This descriptive study was performed on 151 qualified nurses working in ICU wards of Shiraz teaching hospitals in 2017. Data collection was performed using a researcher-made checklist. Results: 21.5% of the nurses knew the normal tracheal cuff pressure and tracheostomy range. Regarding the different ways of measuring cuff pressure, 5.3% referred to the minimum leakage method, 86.7% to the manual method, 74.7% to the manometer, and no reference was made to the obstruction method. 60.7% used the manual method to measure cuff pressure, and only 39.3% used a manometer. 3.3% did not know the time interval of cuff pressure measurement. 40% in each shift, and 56.7% stated every 24 hours as the appropriate time to control it. Conclusions: The results of the present study showed that the performance of nurses concerning the ways of measuring cuff pressure is appropriate. However, the nurses' knowledge in this study is limited about the normal range of endotracheal tube cuff pressure and the complications caused by the abnormal low cuff range.}, keywords = {Humans,Cuff pressure,Intratracheal Intubation,Knowledge,Practice}, title_fa = {بررسی دانش و عملکرد پرستاران در رابطه با نحوه‌ی اندازه گیری و کنترل فشار کاف لوله تراشه و تراکیاستومی بیماران بستری در بخش های مراقبت ویژه}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: فقدان دانش و مهارت پرستار در مراقبت از فشار کاف لوله تراشه منجر به پیدایش عوارض متعددی در بیمار می شود.  با این وجود مطالعات اندکی در این زمینه در دسترس می باشد. مطالعه حاضر با هدف تعیین دانش و عملکرد پرستاران در مورد  نحوه ی اندازه گیری و کنترل فشار کاف بیماران بستری در بخش های مراقبت ویژه انجام شد.روش‌ها: این مطالعه توصیفی در 151 نفر پرستاران شاغل واجد شرایط در بخش های ICU بیمارستان های آموزشی  شهر شیراز در سال 1398 انجام شد. جمع آوری اطلاعات با استفاده از یک چک لیست محقق ساخته انجام شد.یافته ها: 5/21 درصد از پرستاران، محدوده طبیعی فشار کاف لوله تراشه و تراکیاستومی را به درستی می دانستند. در رابطه با راه های مختلف اندازه گیری فشار کاف ،3/5 درصد به روش حداقل نشت،7/86 درصد به روش دستی،7/74 به  دستگاه مانومتر اشاره نموده و به روش انسدادی هیچ اشاره ای نشده بود.7/60 درصد از روش دستی برای اندازه گیری فشار کاف و فقط 3/39 از مانومتر، استفاده می کردند. 3/3 درصد از حد فاصل زمان اندازه گیری فشار کاف اطلاعی نداشتند، 40 درصد در هر شیفت و 7/56 درصد زمان مناسب برای کنترل آن را هر 24 ساعت اعلام نمودند.نتیجه گیری: نتایج مطالعه حاضر نشان داد عملکرد پرستاران در رابطه با راه های اندازه گیری فشار کاف مناسب است ولی دانش پرستاران این مطالعه در مورد محدوده طبیعی فشار کاف لوله تراشه و عوارض ناشی از محدوده غیر طبیعی کاف پایین می باشد.}, keywords_fa = {انسان,فشارکاف,لوله گذاری داخل تراشه,دانش,عملکرد}, url = {https://smsj.sums.ac.ir/article_48232.html}, eprint = {https://smsj.sums.ac.ir/article_48232_c5f331a4b4650661a72156ec01904fdf.pdf} }
