Acceptance of organizational change by the staff is an important issue that the health system managers are facing with. The purpose of this study is the relationship between psychological empowerment with the readiness to accept change in first-level health workers in a Health Network in Noorabad city in 2012. <br /><strong>Methods:</strong> This is a descriptive-analytical and correlation study which is done cross-sectional in the spring of 2012. The study population included all primary health workers in Noorabad Health<br />Network, which due to problems to access to all of them, used the cluster sampling. Tools for data collection were two standard questionnaires: psychological empowerment and readiness to<br />acceptance rate of organizational change. For data analysis, SPSS software, 16th version was used. Also, descriptive statistical tests, Spearman test, T test and one-way ANOVA were used.

Prayer is a valuable coping strategy for adaptation of chronic illness. Postpartum depression endangers mother's health and has negative effect on her social communication and infant development. Therefore, this study is conducted to determine the postpartum depression and some related factors. <br />Methods: This Study is a cross-sectional research, which was accomplished in Fateme Zahra hospital in Najafabad. Ninety two samples were selected from mothers with 4-8weeks after delivery through convenience method. Depression in samples was measured by Beck questionnaire .The obtained data were analyzed by statistical test(X2) and P<0.05 was taken as the significant level.

<strong>Background</strong>: The present value and future achievement of any organization is completely dependent on the abilities and skills of its staffs. Hospital is one of the organizations that give services and depends on knowledge human resources. The purpose of this research is the study of the characteristics of knowledge-based human forces in public hospitals of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. <br /><strong>Methods</strong>: This study was a survey that was conducted in a descriptive-analytical way in public hospitals of Shiraz in 2012.The subject of study were all physicians and nurses working in public hospitals in shiraz selected by compound sampling (stratified sampling adjusted to sample size and two stage cluster sampling). Finally 124 members of the physician and nurses were selected as samples. Data was collected by questionnaire that its reliability was gained using coronbach's 0.89 alpha coefficient. To analyze the data, the spss16 software and tests of descriptive and inferential statistics such as t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient were used. <br /><strong>Results</strong>: In this study, there were 72% men that 50% of them have bachelor degrees .36 members were physicians and 64 members were nurses. The medical staff had features of scholars except independence, self-arousal, and creativity. There was a meaning full relationship between scholar's features and their ages (r= -0.253, p = 0.024), but there wasn't a meaning full relationship between their features with other demographical factors. <br /><strong>Conclusion</strong>: Physicians and nurses are as the important resources of hospitals had some features of scholars. The hospital managers should search about the reasons of the lack of scholars' features in medical staff and plan to keep and promote the present features.

<strong>Background</strong>: One of the most significant instruments against AIDS is awareness. This study aims to determine awareness, attitude and performance of the students studying at medical college in Dezful. They had studied in terms of their needs analysis before their practical courses in hospital. <br /><strong>Methods:</strong> All students in medical school of Dezful participated in this cross-sectional study. Participants were selected by enumeration. They answered the Questionnaire (the researcher made) including 6 items for demographic characteristics, 19 items for awareness, 12 items for attitude and 7 items for performance. The data were collected in the software SPSS ver. 18, analyzed by c<sup>2</sup>, spearman rank correlation, t-test and ANOVA. <br /><strong>Results</strong>: Forty (62.5%) participants were women. Fifty participants (78.1%) were highly aware of the AIDS. Significantly, men had higher awareness than the women (P= 0.01) that they were Learning from schools and textbooks. Moreover, more than a half of the participants had a positive attitude towards the suggested solutions and nursing students had a significantly higher attitude (p=0.04). In performance, 45.3% had appropriate performance in terms of transition of the AIDS. <br /><strong>Conclusion</strong>: It seemed that the student’s attitude and performance level was good. But inappropriate imaginations existed in students regarding the transmission, attitude and performance of the students who are exposed to the disease. To compensate these shortages, proper education in the field before entering the training, can be suggested.

Prevalence and associated risk factors of low back pain among Shahid Beheshti hospital staff in Shiraz

<strong>Background</strong>: low back pain is one of the most common work related health problems among hospital workers when compare to other groups. The incidence varies among different countries. Work related activities such as twisting, bending, sustained posture; repeated movements are regarded as casual risk factors for low back pain and other back injuries. The aim of this study is the description of the prevalence and risk factors of low back pain among a variety of hospital workers including nurses, physiotherapists, technicians and etc. <br /><strong>Methods</strong>: A 23-item self administered questionnaire was completed by 275 employees in Shiraz Shahid Beheshti hospital associated with social security organization using a cross sectional survey design. Data were collected over 3 months and analyzed using chi-square and logistic regression techniques. <br /><strong>Results:</strong> The prevalence of low back pain was 50.9 %, 42.1% in men and 57.9% in women. The highest prevalence was reported by group of nurses and midwifes (60.7%). Gender, short stature, duration of disease and injury and back pain were identified as the most important predisposing factors (p ≤ 0.05). <br /><strong>Conclusions:</strong> low back pain prevalence is high in hospital staff and preventive measures should be taken to reduce it, such as educational programmes about the proper body mechanics, arranging proper rest periods, lifting devices and additional staff.
