This study aimed to assess sleep quality and general health in the elderly population. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 120 elderly individuals in Lar (40 individuals living in nursing homes and 80 ones living in their houses). The individuals living in their houses were selected through multi-stage sampling. Sleep quality and general health were evaluated using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale (PSQI) and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), respectively. The data were collected using face-to-face interviews. Then, the data were entered into the SPSS statistical software, version 20 and were analyzed using chi-square test, independent t-test, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Results: The score of sleep quality was significantly higher in the elderly individuals living in their houses compared to those living in nursing homes (P=0.012). Besides, 61.7% of the participants showed undesirable general health. Moreover, a significant positive correlation was found between sleep quality and general health (r=0.382, P<0.001). Conclusion: Based on the results, the elderly individuals had undesirable sleep quality and general health. Considering the lower sleep quality and general health in the elderly individuals living in nursing homes, they have to be provided with more attention and support. Measures, such as psychological counseling and health education, are necessary in order to promote this group’s general health and sleep quality.}, keywords = {Quality of sleep,General health,Elderly individuals}, title_fa = {مقایسه کیفیت خواب و سلامت عمومی در سالمندان مقیم خانه و سرای سالمندان}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: خواب یکی از نیازهای اساسی انسان می باشد که کیفیت آن تحت تاثیر سلامت عمومی فرد می باشد. هدف از مطالعه حاضر بررسی کیفیت خواب و سلامت عمومی سالمندان می باشد.مواد و روش: این مطالعه مقطعی بر روی 120 نفر از سالمندان شهر لار (40 سالمند مقیم سرای سالمندان و 80 سالمند مقیم خانه) انجام شد. کیفیت خواب و سلامت عمومی این دو گروه از سالمندان به ترتیب با استفاده از پرسشنامه های سلامت عمومی (GHQ-28) و کیفیت خواب پترزبورگ(PSQS)  مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت. نمونه‌گیری از سالمندان مقیم خانه به روش نمونه‌گیری چند مرحله‌ای و با مراجعه به درب منازل انجام گرفت. روش جمع‌آوری داده‌ها مصاحبه حضوری با سالمندان بود. جهت آنالیز داده‌ها از آزمون‌های کای‌اسکوئر، تی‌تست مستقل و ضریب همبستگی پیرسون در نرم افزار  SPSSنسخه 20 استفاده شد.یافته‌ها: نمره کلی کیفیت خواب در سالمندان مقیم خانه بطور معنی‌داری بیش از افراد مقیم سرای سالمندان بود (012/0=p). یافته‌ها نشان داد که 7/61 درصد افراد شرکت‌کننده از سلامت عمومی مطلوبی برخوردار نیستند. بین سلامت عمومی و کیفیت خواب همبستگی مثبت و مستقیمی مشاهده شد که از لحاظ آماری نیز معنی‌دار بود (382/0=r، 001/0>p).بحث و نتیجه‌گیری: بطور کلی سالمندان سلامت عمومی و کیفیت خواب مطلوبی نداشته و با توجه به پایین تر بودن کیفیت خواب و سلامت عمومی در سالمندان مقیم سرای سالمندان، این قشر نیازمند توجه و حمایت بیشتری بوده و لازم است تمهیداتی نظیر مشاوره‌های روانشناسی و آموزش‌های لازم در جهت ارتقاء سلامت عمومی و نهایتا کیفیت خواب آنها صورت گیرد.}, keywords_fa = {کیفیت خواب,سلامت عمومی,سالمندان}, url = {https://smsj.sums.ac.ir/article_44092.html}, eprint = {https://smsj.sums.ac.ir/article_44092_e581dff90652776163afcd63c40ff02d.pdf} }
